Contest Rules

Effective date: July 6, 2026

PlayTrivia is positioned as a skill-based trivia contest. These interim rules should be reviewed by counsel and shown clearly anywhere users can buy coins, join contests, view leaderboards, or request prize withdrawals.

Contest format

Players join official PlayTrivia rooms and answer official trivia questions. Standard trivia questions use multiple-choice answers. Fastest Fingers questions may require exact free-text answers. Room rules, question types, time limits, and scoring may vary by event.

Scoring

The server records submitted answers, correctness, question timing, and score awards. The current standard live-room rule awards points to the first player who submits the correct answer for a question. Later correct answers may receive no points if the first-correct reward has already been claimed.

Winner selection

Leaderboards are calculated from server-recorded answers, correctness, timestamps, and scoring rules for the room, week, or event. The server record is the final gameplay record unless PlayTrivia determines that fraud, abuse, a bug, or a service incident affected the result.

Prize eligibility

Prizes are available only where permitted. Eligibility may depend on age, location, identity verification, account standing, accurate payment or payout details, minimum point thresholds, tax or compliance requirements, and compliance with these rules.

No random draw

Published prize contests are intended to be skill-based trivia competitions. Prizes are awarded for correct answers, speed, and leaderboard performance, not lottery-style random selection.

Weekly leaderboard rewards

PlayTrivia may generate weekly reward records for the top eligible leaderboard performers. Weekly reward records are pending until reviewed and approved by an administrator.

Point withdrawals

Point withdrawals are user-submitted cash-out requests based on eligible point balances. They are separate from weekly prize rewards and are subject to minimum thresholds, payout review, and fraud checks.

Disqualification

Players may be disqualified for cheating, bots, automation, collusion, exploiting bugs, abusive behavior, payment fraud, false identity details, account sharing, multiple-account abuse, or violating platform or payment-provider rules.

Payout review

Prize payouts and withdrawals are reviewed before payment. PlayTrivia may request additional verification and may reject or delay requests that fail eligibility, fraud, compliance, tax, payment, platform, or rule checks.

Taxes and local rules

Players are responsible for taxes or reporting obligations in their location. Some regions may be excluded until PlayTrivia confirms contest compliance there.

Changes and incidents

If a technical incident, outage, scoring issue, or suspicious activity affects a contest, PlayTrivia may pause the contest, recalculate results, cancel affected rounds, reverse points, or take another reasonable action to protect contest integrity.
